Our administration has over 30 years of combined experience in early childhood. We continuously seek out opportunities
to keep current in the field of Early Childhood Education, thereby ensuring that your child receives the highest quality of
care.
About Our StaffAll of the caring individuals who work with children at First Steps
Nursery School must have the following:
- Positive and friendly attitude
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Fingerprinting
for background check
- Physical Examination
- 3 written references
- Continuing education on a yearly basis
of at least 15 clock hours
- Must love to work with children
Early Childhood Teachers must
have at least 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university with 6 hours in ECE or one year of child development experience
and 30 credit hours from an accredited college/university with 6 hours in ECE or a current CDA (subject to review).

Laurie has a background in business & financial management.
She has been working in childcare for 11 years. As owner of First Steps Nursery School, her goal is to provide a safe
and nurturing environment for the children as well as run a stable business.

Jennifer
holds a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been working with children for 17 years - from infants through
6th graders. She has been working at First Steps since we opened. She began as a teacher in the younger infant
room, then moved to the 5 years old classroom and is now currently the Director.

Cori is currently completing her Early Childhood Education degree.
She has been working with children for 8 years. She serves as First Step's co-director and has been with us since 2002.
